They've taken over

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

The letter by Janet Colville is right on ("We Are Wasting Invaluable Health-Care Resources," Dec. 13).

Our government has become overrun with interest groups to a point where it can no longer respond to the needs of people too poor to afford health care.

Plutocracy -- the rule by the wealthy -- has become an organic part of the U.S. legislative process since the advent of political action committees.

Big "Pharm" and big "HMO administration" will always buy the votes needed to veto any meaningful legislation that threatens their interests.
