An ethnic slur
I was disappointed to see a headline Dec. 20 using the word "gyp" on the continuation of a story about coupon use in retail stores. The word "gyp" is an ethnic slur against the gypsies now known by their proper name, the Roma. The idea that someone who is cheated is gyped represents an unfair stereotype and does not belong in any newspaper.

Editor's note: The headline was changed for later editions and appeared in only one out of 10 newspapers.
