Bribes for votes

Isn't anyone outraged that during an economic downturn taxpayer dollars in the megamillions are being used to pay bribes to senators for their votes in favor of a bill that a majority of taxpayers don't want passed ("What They Won: Concessions Gained by Lawmakers in Health Bill," Dec. 22)? Does the United States now have a devil-take-democracy government in which our representatives decide for us what we want just as if it were a dictatorship?

Perhaps our desires can be better expressed this coming November?
