Why should taxpayers help corporations?

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

Regarding "Court Lets More Corporate Cash in Politics" (Jan. 22): The recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court was surprising, maybe, and disappointing, definitely.

If one wants an example of what unbridled corporate forces can do, one has only to examine the kinds of mine worker-struggles that are well-documented (Matewan and others).

Unfortunately, one doesn't legitimize corruption by saying it's OK.

Not that all corporations are corrupt, but some act as if they are above investigation.

If the business community has access to such money, why should the taxpayer ever have to give it any help?
