I enjoyed the Feb. 22 front-page article "Are Malls a Dying Breed?" I am sure that the reporter put a lot of time and effort into the information contained therein and it was appreciated by this reader.
I did want to note that a photo and caption of Century III Mall were a bit misleading. The photo of the upper level of the two-story parking area between Sears and the Macy's furniture store was of an area that is totally blocked off from all forms of vehicular traffic. There is a line of guard rail just to the left of the Sears parking area and barricades on the lower- and upper-level access ramps, allowing no traffic at all.
While I am sure there are other underused areas of the parking lot, I felt it was important to point out this fact in fairness to Century III Mall and its managing agent, Simon Properties. While the mall is definitely lacking the customer support of the past, I, as a longtime shopper and supporter, will be doing all that I can to help it survive. Keep up the good work.
