God's ways

Regarding Tony Norman's March 20 column ("The Pope's Message of No Hope on AIDS"): Chastity and marital fidelity are in keeping with God's ways. We know that departing from His ways leads to perdition. Since God designed copulation to be productive under certain regular circumstances, sex has no place outside a covenantal relationship that can nourish new life, making moot the issue of condoms outside of marriage.

Within marriage, condoms represent an interference with His creative plan -- likewise a departure from His way. In his statement about the inadequacy of condoms, the pope is urging us to return to God's ways if we want to achieve happiness here and hereafter. May you be richly blessed.
