To its credit

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

In regard to the recent controversy over President Barack Obama being awarded an honorary degree from the University of Notre Dame, I have to ask, is every graduate of Notre Dame pro-life?

If not, then their degrees should be rescinded and their tuition money returned, correct? Is every faculty member pro-life? If not, they should be relieved of their positions, correct? After all, these individuals are not upholding the morals and values that Notre Dame stands for as many have stated, specifically Diocese of Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik. Or is it acceptable to have opposing viewpoints if you pay tuition to Notre Dame?

To its credit, the leadership at Notre Dame seems to understand the importance of bestowing this honor on President Barack Obama and is able to look beyond the fact that his views on this one issue differ from theirs.
