Postal trimming
It is with much interest that I have read about the financial problems of the postal service. I can hark back to the days when there was Sunday mail during the Christmas holidays. Where have we gone wrong? I realize that the Internet has been a major factor affecting the post office. But I make two cost-cutting suggestions:
1) I live in the township of South Fayette. There are several post offices in the area. Could not the post office save money by combining these?
2) There are residents in suburban Pittsburgh who have mail delivered to their doors. Would not it behoove the post office to change this so that this mail is delivered at the street?
These are only two examples of cost-cutting measures in my little world. I would think that there are many other areas in the United States similar to this.
