A habit of filth

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

Regarding "redding up" for the G-20 ("Ideas Flow on How to Redd Up the City," June 20): Why? We are a city of pigs. The landscape surrounding the entire Pittsburgh area and Allegheny County is filthy and covered with litter. This simply illustrates the types of people who live in the Pittsburgh area.

You may put on your so-called smiling faces, but anyone navigating to and from the Pittsburgh area cannot help but see the litter and debris that strangle our hillsides and communities. I was raised here and love the area, but in all my travels throughout the United States, our community is the filthiest and most littered area I have ever seen.

How sad when you see young and old treat the Earth like it was their garbage can. The G-20 summit deserves no special attention. The people of this area need to develop some self-respect and police the region for litter.
