Review his record

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

In a July 11 letter, a writer applauded Rep. Mike Doyle and his colleagues for voting in favor of the American Clean Energy and Security Act ("Alcoa Supports This Action on Climate Change"). I disagree.

According to the 30th annual rating of Congress by the National Taxpayers Union, Rep. Doyle has the lowest rating of all representatives from Pennsylvania when it comes to voting against taxes and against spending, reducing the debt and not putting regulatory burden on consumers and taxpayers.

This bill will cost taxpayers, and even those who do not pay taxes as consumers. As for this bill creating jobs, we will see. I have major doubts. It seems that the only jobs Congress and the president have created so far are the czars and additional government employees for the big government they are building.

I fell for President Obama's campaign rhetoric thinking he would reduce big government, balance budgets, cut out wasteful spending and stand on the side of the taxpayer/consumer. I voted against Rep. Doyle because of his past record. We need to vote out and keep voting out those in office, regardless of party, who do not stand for the taxpayers and consumers and elect officials who will. By the way, Sen. Bob Casey has an even worse record than Rep. Doyle, according to the annual rating noted above.
