Don't be suckers

Regarding "Losing Doesn't Deter Pirates Faithful" (July 18): We have arguably the best baseball park in the major leagues. Yet we are in year 17 of fielding a losing team. It's time for the Pirates faithful to wake up and stop the insanity. You need to stay away and stop supporting a losing team. Otherwise, you will get more of the same under this current ownership.

Their recent contract extensions to Jack Wilson and Freddy Sanchez are embarrassing and typical of this franchise. Pirates faithful, please do not take in any more fireworks nights or bobblehead freebies.

Except for the sports world, if a business had 17 years of bad business, then either heads would roll or you would be out of business. Can't you see, Pirates faithful, that they are doing just enough to field a team but they are turning a profit at your expense? As the saying goes, a sucker is born every minute.
