Murphy's chance
I was pleased to see the president speak out against the critics of his health-care plan. It is my hope that Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Upper St. Clair, will not be an obstructionist to health-care reform.
Mr. Murphy appeared recently on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" and came out critical of the proposal currently in the House. I find this rather ironic since he has dedicated his career to improving health care in this country and now there is a great chance to do just that!
If the bill passes, it is estimated that 97 percent of Americans will have access to affordable health care. This is a chance of a lifetime for Mr. Murphy to make a real difference, yet I fear that he will instead choose to side with congressional Republicans, like U.S. Sen Jim DeMint, who are more interested in scoring political points against the president.
