Gratuitous attack

The letter of Thomas Wehner ("NRA Mentality," March 21) in reference to R. David Brewer's letter ("Cartoon Deception," March 7) and Rob Rogers' Feb. 28 cartoon should have kept to the subject of said cartoon. But Mr. Wehner had to drag the National Rifle Association into the conversation with no reasonable implication of the NRA in the cartoon.

I'm sure he has upset other NRA members with the remark of "NRA mentality" and that he "abhor[s] the NRA." If he has a problem with the NRA, I feel that this was not the place to just toss it in, at the end of his letter. Maybe he should have explained to the Tri-State area what the "NRA mentality" is.
