Uninformed debate
I recently drove past a home flying the flag of the Soviet Union. I must assume that this is some form of protest against the Obama presidency, that President Obama is turning us into a communist country. To residents of the home flying that flag and other Americans decrying what they see as "socialism" or "communism," you couldn't be more wrong.
If this were a communist country, you would be thrown in jail for expressing your vehement views against the government. Those of you shouting down reasonable discourse on health care would be locked away, never to be heard from again. If President Bush were still in office, you might find yourself on a "no fly" list or the subject of a warrantless wiretap.
It's time that all of you accept the fact that President Obama is our lawfully elected president. However, a democracy depends on having an informed electorate. If you wish to express your opinions against his policies, fine, but educate yourselves on the facts of any particular issue. Rush Limbaugh and Fox TV are not credible sources of reliable information. Learn to read a newspaper, like the Post-Gazette, while we still have the luxury of independent print media.
Most important, drop the shouting and the violence. This type of rude, crude and dangerous behavior only shows your ignorance.
