Return a sane ban

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

After we tuck away in our minds the horror and mourning of those innocent people gunned down by a madman at the LA Fitness club, I guarantee another episode of senseless mass murder will occur again. But where? We've already experienced this sick behavior in one-room schools, high schools, colleges, churches, gasoline stations, post offices, grocery stores, day care centers, etc., etc., etc.! Where next?

Could it just be that if the majority of people pressured their legislators to reinstate the assault-weapon ban some of this senseless violence could be avoided? The majority of the U.S. population are not card-carrying/decal-displaying National Rifle Association members. I am so tired of the NRA and its policies. I am disgusted with politicians who fall for it. Please do not tell me that no gun law could have avoided this.

The way gun violence has become a daily headline on the television news, it's only a matter of time until every one of us is affected by some sicko with a gun. Purchasing two shopping bags full of guns at convention center gun sale or over the Internet reveals a problem.

Wake up, people! Write, call, e-mail your legislators and demand the return of the assault-weapon ban and stricter gun controls. Who's next and where?
