Burress injustice

Can someone tell me where the justice is in our judicial system? We have Plaxico Burress, who gets two years in prison for carrying a gun for protection ("Burress Faces 2 Years in Jail," Aug. 21), while others get a hand slap for more serious offenses.

I realize he didn't have a permit. The man is famous and wealthy; he was going to protect himself. He's not a young gun-slinging punk out to take what's not his. His career is ruined for shooting himself. Two years -- does that sound right?

In case you're wondering, I am a 60-year-old white suburban grandmother who is not a football fanatic. Just someone wondering where the heck justice is. I feel they are using him for an example.
