Tea party hypocrites

The thing that absolutely puzzles me about the health-care reform protesters and the "tea party" folks is this: Why weren't they shouting "tyranny!" when it became public that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were unconstitutionally spying on Americans? Furthermore, why haven't any prominent editorials appeared calling out these groups for their hypocrisy?

I wonder how persuasive these right-wing groups would sound if they were compelled to admit they'd be happy to live in a police state as long as the jailers are Republicans.
