Withheld name
Your decision to withhold the name of the plaintiff accusing Ben Roethlisberger is both wrong and inconsequential. Wrong because she is the aggressor and Ben Roethlisberger innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Suppose he is found innocent -- will you then print her identity? I recently moved here from North Carolina where three lacrosse players at Duke University were wrongly accused of raping a hired stripper at an off-campus party. When the truth surfaced, District Attorney Mike Nifong was sued into bankruptcy, lost his law license and was fired. Then the newspapers published her name, only to discover from readers that she had pulled the same shakedown attempt unsuccessfully before. If they'd published her name up front, the boys, school and town might have been spared a year of turmoil.
Anyway, your withholding is comical. Pittsburgh TV stations display her name and photo.
