The right decision

On the one hand, as a parent my heart broke when I read about the sadness and misery that Kelly Frey and her husband are feeling because of the condition of the little boy that she's carrying.

On the other hand, I couldn't help but be inspired by their decision to give birth to little Bennett, instead of "terminating" him.

This beautiful boy, for as long as he's with us, will feel his mother's embrace, his dad's tender touch. Their last memory of him will be as a sweet, innocent, angelic human being, and not as a fluttery, indistinct, black-and-white image on an ultrasound monitor.

As much as it will hurt -- and it certainly will hurt -- I'm sure that Bennett's parents will look back on this time and know that they did exactly the right thing.
