Welcome to the city where freedom doesn't ring

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

Civil or constitutional rights were made into a joke in Pittsburgh this week. With the ruling of federal Judge Gary Lancaster, what little constitutional rights the people had were terminated ("Judge Denies Harassment Claim," Sept. 23).

The air space sealed, our three rivers sealed, the roads sealed and the sidewalks locked down. Camp Ravenstahl welcomes the world leaders.

Let the bells toll, not for freedom, but oppression.

Our forefathers brought forth this nation, conceived in the darkest of hours, with the British Empire out to destroy this experiment of self-rule. Pittsburgh, with its rich and proud history, will have another chapter added. This will not be one to be proud of.

The law of the land is only temporary, easily taken away by the mayor or a federal judge. Today the Constitution has many articles and amendments redacted.
