A solid return
It's our 40th anniversary of man landing on the moon, and the Obama administration proposes shutting down the moon landing program because it will need another $3 billion a year ("NASA Needs a New Plan and More Money, Panel Finds," Sept. 9). However, Mr. Obama is willing to spend $90 billion a year for a flawed health-care plan.
We as a country are still reaping benefits from the space program of the '60s. You see, we will always get a good return on putting money into science. Much of our current technology is a spinoff of the Apollo space program. There is the integrated circuit, and much, much more.
It will cost our country much more not to invest in space.
