Where fault lies

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

In response to Vida V. Burnelis' letter "Protesters a Priority?" (Sept. 21): What? Protesters are being permitted to come to the city? Her husband is being forced to take off work?

I am a protester, and I live and pay taxes in Pittsburgh. Any American has a right to exercise his or her right to free expression as he or she sees fit, even if it means traveling to Pittsburgh. The protesters are not to blame for Ms. Burnelis' husband's missing two days of work -- try the Secret Service and whomever his employer is that told its employees to stay home because of a perimeter installed by the U.S. government.

I'm pretty sure that any business that wants to can stay open during the G-20, but everyone is too paranoid because of the specter of violence raised constantly by the media.

Blame the boss, blame the government, but don't blame people doing what the Constitution tells them they can do.
