A state run by fools
Since our illustrious leaders in Harrisburg could not come up with more cuts in various social programs, I am going to have to make my own personal cuts. Because of the added tax on the arts, zoos and museums ("Arts Groups Decry Ticket Tax," Sept. 22), I will not renew my membership to the Carnegie Museum next year. I will throw away the brochure I received from the Cultural Trust with eight shows I had circled to see the remainder of this year and into 2010.
My cuts are going to cost me in enjoyment, but I'll find other entertainment outlets closer to my home or rent or buy DVDs of shows online instead of driving into Pittsburgh to see them.
Can the Pennsylvania Legislature and the governor not see what they are doing to businesses by adding taxes? What fools they are in Harrisburg!
