Regarding Post-Gazette Executive Editor David M. Shribman's column "The Press Is Biased: But It's Not a Matter of Left or Right; It's About Change and Controversy" (Dec. 20): This is the result of accurately reporting right and left news.

These days the right's news tends to be very negative to anything proposed by the left and is apparently intended to delay and destroy. The left reacts by being defensive with explanations.

To help reduce readers' possible resulting bias to the left, the right tries to prevent backlash against Republicans by simply complaining that press reporting is biased to Democrats.
