Yes, please open it

Reading the letter from Ross Brightwell ("A Final Opening?" April 20) brought back a fond memory. It was Sunday and my wife, Theresa, and our two sons, Harry and Tony, were attending Mass at Epiphany Church. It was open house at the Civic Arena that day. As we left the church my wife wanted to go over and see the new arena especially with the roof open.

It was a sight to behold, looking up and seeing the sun shining and the beauty of the blue sky. I am sure many who were there that day in 1961, plus those who never had the chance, would like to attend the final opening of the roof. I hope the powers that be take Mr. Brightwell's suggestion.
