Third parties receive disgraceful treatment

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

Regarding Ruth Ann Dailey's column "Nader vs. the System: Democracy at Stake" (April 19):

Thanks for printing this column about the ridiculous offensive against third-party candidates. How does being sued for running for public office fit into any aspect of a constitutional America?

Even if people don't agree with their views, supporting this kind of action by allowing it to stand unconfronted is literally voting for the destruction of our republic.

Ralph Nader and Carl Romanelli deserve the support of every person who believes in the rights of every U.S. citizen, whether they like these candidates or not. This is a disgrace and I am ashamed to have called myself a Democrat in light of the criminal measures taken by the Democratic Party nationwide to prevent these men from running for office.

The perpetrators of this scam should be prosecuted for subverting our electoral process and for stealing our money to do it.
