Wall Street ruined people, yet the GOP resists reform?

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

We now have Sen. Mitch McConnell of the obstructionist team of MBC (McConnell, Boehner, Cantor) telling us again what "Americans don't want." Actually, that has become his standard phrase for everything the president proposes. This time it is financial reform.

That's fine for members of Congress who receive huge donations from Wall Street and have stupendous health and retirement benefits paid by -- you guessed it -- the U.S. government. I think I speak for those of us who lost a significant amount of our pensions invested in Wall Street and others who lost homes and jobs due to a lack of oversight of the financial markets -- we want more oversight not less. We have lost enough to the crooks, swindlers and defrauders on Wall Street.
