Go Pink night at Frankies
During the 12-12-12 concert on Wednesday, we saw what some old pros can do with the Pink Floyd catalog.
On Friday night at Frankies in Squirrel Hill, a variety of Pittsburghers, including some youngsters, will get their shot in A Tribute to Pink Floyd.
One of the highlights is certain to be the For Those About to Rock Academy All-Stars, made up of teenagers sure to be breaking out on the scene in a few years.
Joining them are Chaibaba, Sun Hound, Sugapablo, Langston Kelly and Phat Man Dee. What will the quirky jazz diva be up to?
"Not sure what songs," said organizer Southside Vinni Belfiore, "but I begged her to do 'Great Gig In The Sky' so I can only hope."
This is second Tribute for Charity, following the recent Led Zep show. They are collecting for Toys For Tots and a portion of the door goes to the Dave Whaley Medical Fund to benefit the drummer and Dave's Music Mine employee who has assaulted on the South Side.
