Spidey swings for fences with $92 million opening weekend

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” lived up to its title and brought in an estimated $92 million its first weekend.

It averaged $21,277 per location, which means robust audiences wearing 3-D glasses and, in select theaters, sitting in front of IMAX screens.

Here are the top five movies, from the box office experts at Rentrak:

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” -- $92,000,000.

“The Other Woman” -- $14,200,000, bringing its running total to $47,345,472.

“Heaven Is for Real” -- $8,700,000, for $65,602,409 since release.

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” --$7,762,000 or $237,143,000 to date.

“Rio 2” -- $7,600,000, or $106,470,276 so far.
