Thor is better man at box office; Best Man Holiday strong second

“The Best Man Holiday” came on stronger than experts predicted but “Thor: The Dark World” reigned supreme once again. 
 
The sequel grossed an estimated $38,454,000, bringing its total to $146,965,000 to date. Here is how the weekend stacks up, courtesy of Rentrak: 
 
1. “Thor” — $38,454,000, for $146,965,000 since release.
2. “The Best Man Holiday” — $30,592,760.
3. “Last Vegas” — $8,865,000, bumping its gross to $46,957,983.
4. “Free Birds” — $8,300,000, for $42,218,205 to date. 
5. “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa” — $7,670,000, nudging it closer to the $100 million mark, with $90,201,638.
6.  “Gravity” — $6,280,000, for $240,555,614 in North America. 
7. “Ender’s Game” — $6,200,000, or $53,776,584 so far. 
8. “12 Years a Slave” — $4,700,000, for $24,948,785 since its limited release.
9. “Captain Phillips” — $4,500,000, bringing its total to $97,617,458.
10. “About Time” — $3,462,400, or $11,568,048.
