A year after “The Lifeguard” was filmed in the Pittsburgh area it’s on the verge of a video on demand release July 30 and limited theatrical release Aug. 30, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It’s too early to know if the movie will land in a local theater.
“The Lifeguard,” starring Kristen Bell, Martin Starr, Mamie Gummer and David Lambert shot in Sewickley, the Strip District, Churchill and Fox Chapel.
Bell plays a 29-year-old reporter for the Associated Press who finds life to be mundane, director-writer Liz Garcia told the Post-Gazette last summer. She decides to leave New York and return to her hometown in the suburbs of New England and returns to her high school job of lifeguarding at the local pool.
