Will Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie, the star and director of “Jack Reacher" (shown above),  be reuniting on a fifth “Mission: Impossible” picture? Could be.

No director or writer yet but the most important component of another installment is ready. Deadline.com reports Cruise has agreed to star in — and produce — another movie in the “Mission: Impossible” series.

Speculation is afoot that McQuarrie, who came to Pittsburgh to make “Jack Reacher” with Cruise and is an Oscar winner for writing “The Usual Suspects,” would direct.

But McQuarrie might be busy with an “Ice Station Zebra” remake which he will direct and write, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In case you missed “Jack Reacher,” based on the Lee Child novel and filmed here as “One Shot,” it arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday.
