Emma Watson will receive the second MTV Trailblazer Award live during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. at the Sony Pictures Studios Lot in Culver City, Calif.

The award honors best-in-class young actors who are actively carving out their own unique and diverse path in the film industry.

Watson, who is best known for her role as Hermione in the “Harry Potter” movies, is in contention for three MTV Awards, including best female performance, for “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” filmed and set in Pittsburgh. (Above Summit photo, from "Perks.")

Next up for her:  “The Bling Ring” written and directed by Sofia Coppola and “Noah” reuniting her with “Perks” star Logan Lerman, along with Russell Crowe.

“Emma Watson endeared herself to fans as one of the most beloved and iconic characters of her generation and did so again this past year as she seamlessly transformed into the role of Sam from yet another modern-day classic in ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower,’ ” said Stephen Friedman, president of MTV.

“She’s been a constant presence in the lives of our audience for more than a decade and is continuing to challenge her craft with upcoming roles as radically diverse as her enormous talent.”

Rebel Wilson from “Pitch Perfect” will host the show and be joined by the recipient of MTV’s inaugural “Comedic Genius Award,” Will Ferrell.  Go to MovieAwards.MTV.com for more information.
